In the year he turned 20 American skier Gus Kenworthy already held the title as World Champion Freestyle Skier. As of today, at the end of 2015, he has won this title five consecutive years in a row. Here’s a short video of him on his second pipe run at the Park City Grand Prix in Utah, USA.
Not only is Gus a great skier, but he also has a kind personality and particularly has a soft spot for animals. During the 2014 Sochi Winter Olympic Games – where he won a silver medal – he found 4 stray puppies and their mother which he eventually took back to the USA with him after a long struggle.

On 22 October 2015 Kenworthy announced on social media that he’s gay. In an interview with ESPN he said that he knew he was gay since he was 5 years old, but he didn’t start coming out until 2012.
He also mentioned that he was considering quitting skiing completely and experienced anxiety before he came out. He’s looking forward to a whole new experience of X Games in 2016 where he’ll be the only openly gay contestant. He ended his interview with ESPN by saying that there may even be someone holding up a rainbow flag to support him.
