Animals. Martin Garrix. Now you know exactly who I’m talking about – the Dutch teenager who released his breakthrough single Animals in 2013. The 437 million views the music video has on YouTube shows that he is definitely doing something right! Oh, and by the way – he’s the ranked #4 on DJ Mag’s list of the Top 100 DJs of 2014 and has made $46 million in the past twelve months…

He’s very famous, yet little people know that his real name is Martijn Garritsen. If you didn’t know this I would suggest that you read the rest of this post! 😉

Martin’s career started in 2012 when he released a couple of songs. It wasn’t until the release of Animals that he gained worldwide popularity. This song got platinum status and peaked at #21 on the Billboard Hot 100, but went all the way to #1 in several European countries including the UK, Belgium and Hungary. His music genre varies mostly between EDM (Electronic Dance Music) and House.

Here’s how he made Animals with FL Studio:

Since then he’s been touring the world and even started performing at Ultra South Africa. If you’ve got (quite) a few bucks lying around, you can catch him in Cape Town at Ultra SA on the 13th of February 2015.

Here’s his latest music video, Virus:

If you want to get Garrixed a little more you can visit his website, subscribe to his YouTube channel, buy his songs on iTunes or Beatport, follow him on Twitter or Instagram, like him on Facebook, add him on Google+
